Members of the Parliament gathered for a joint photo session ahead of the Parliament session in the New Building of the Parliament. PM Narendra Modi, Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, Lok Sabha Chairman Om Birla and other Parliamentarians were present for the joint photo session.

Central Hall Program
PM Narendra Modi urged Members of Parliament to reaffirm the commitment to make India a developed nation by 2047 and described the move to the new Parliament building as a new beginning towards a new future. He was addressing a gathering of MPs at the historic Central Hall of the old Parliament building during a function to commemorate the rich legacy of the Parliament of India.

The Lok Sabha chamber in the new Parliament building has 888 seats and the Rajya Sabha chamber inside the new Parliament building has 384 seats.

The new Parliament building features a state-of-the-art Constitutional Hall. The offices in the new Parliament House are equipped with the latest communications technology. The building will also have larger committee rooms with the latest audio-visual systems.

Eco-Friendly Initiatives
The new Parliament building is eco-friendly as it uses green construction materials and incorporates devices to save 30 percent electricity consumption. Solar power generation systems and rainwater harvesting will be implemented to promote renewable energy sources.
